BARBARA SINGER

Dear Max,

I just read again your beautiful article.  It is  beautifully written, beautifully designed in each instance. I am very grateful for the way you have seen what is in my thought and work. I am astonished.  I am happy that what I have been striving for has come across to you, and because of you it is reaching others, many others.  You are helping me to believe in myself and go forward.  I feel like the ugly duckling who is becoming a swan! The way you chose and placed the pictures backs up the text.  This truly is a careful, inspired, original, and honest work. And thanks for the astute
placing of my credits.  The  whole thing is of course a  wonderful thing for me, may open doors, may make it possible for me to realize photographic and literary projects that so far have been unattainable.

I value particularly your paragraph that begins, "The photography of Barbara Singer is a human chronicle ." And then you talk about what art means and does to us. It is important that you wrote, "the universe we cherish and fear..." And in the next paragraph, which I also like a lot, you write, "Barbara Singer freezes and frees life.  And this delights and scares the hell out of me...."  Thank you.  This helps to make your whole evaluation of
my work more credible. Incidentally that steel cross is what was left of the World Trade Center after 9/11. It is marvelous that you say my art becomes immortal.  When my sister died I wrote a poem about wanting to become immortal.  The Stargazer lily next to the red ginger flower illustrates this poem, and is called "LIly Immortal." So these are some of my thoughts about your splendid article.  I hope its appearance  does good things for you too. Please keep me posted about future appearances online and in print.  Just a notation is fine.  All the best! Barbara  Singer, New York, New York. USA

NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT  SEND US FILES IN ATTACHMENTS

Dear Editor: We were delighted, my wife and I by La Femme Magazine. What a beautiful magazine indeed. Rarely, nowadays, we see publications which bring the public's awareness toward arts. You are to be commended for the superb service you are doing to the arts communities. Your extensive coverage of the best photographers of the year was a marvelous idea. So enriching and captivating. However, I was saddened to not see the work of our favorite photographer who is highly admired in Germany and England. Probably you have heard of him.  The name is  Memo Alci. We have attached one his best pictures, hoping you will publish it in your magazine. Many thanks in anticipation. Please do publish this photo. Inga and Eric Guttenberg, Berlin, Germany

JENNY SINCLAIR'S TRIBUTE TO THE CARPENTERS   Thank you ever so much for kindly agreeing to do a review for my Carpenters Tribute CD "One More Time". I really do appreciate your support very much indeed. Please find enclosed my CD and also some text showing you from my perspective the recording of my Tribute CD and also text about my own song "Sweet Child of Mine" which is also included on the CD as a way of introducing myself as a singer/songwriter to the fans. I have been most privileged to receive a lot of kind support from people in the media, music industry and ardent Carpenters fans and I have now added a new page on my website at http://www.carpenterstribute.com for "CD Review", in which I would also like to include your contribution. Then that would be great...I feel most honored that you would like to support me in this way. My very best wishes for you. Jenny Sinclair,  Rochester, United Kingdom.

We will do, Jenny.  I have already listened to all your songs on the CD. I will be writing a review, very shortly. Meanwhile, let me assure you that I have tremendously enjoyed listening to your most delightful bouquet of songs. You are a talented and truthful songwriter-singer. And your future is bright. All the best, Jenny. Go get them tigress!

I LOVE MY FANS!                                Dear Maximillien: I am overcome and very thrilled! I have already emailed my agents about doing the OPERA show in NYC and have emailed also the editor of Classical Singer to see if they would sponsor a concert! Fans and fans and love is love baby! (And I LOVE my fans! So let us DO it!) YOU are delightful and I thank you with all my heart!                      Alison England, Paris, France

SIGNED/AUTOGRAPHED PHOTO BY DIVA ALISON ENGLAND

Dear Mr. de Lafayette, your interview with Diva Alison England was quite a piece of journalism. You asked her very candid questions, and boom, voila, you got fireworks from her. I learned a lot about this lady from reading her answers. She is so honest and vivacious. Surely, she knows how to live and deal with life. I also liked her spirit. She approached life with enthusiasm, even though, she is going through divorce. I worked as an assistant set designer for major ballet/opera theaters in Europe. I watched closely how opera stars act behind the curtains. Believe me they are not what usually people think they are. They are moody and difficult to deal with them. Ms. England appears to be genuine and sincere. Now, I would like to ask for her signed autograph. Can you arrange this for me? My previous experience tells me not to write directly to an opera star. Bertrand Lemounier, Paris, France

Go ahead. Write to Ms. England. She will not disappoint you. She is the sweetest diva in the world!

Dear Maximillien; WOW! Thank you from deep in my heart - what a beautiful layout, and kind words!! if you're in town on October 11, I will be hosting a CD release party at Fat Cat - 75 Christopher Street from 9pm-midnight - there will be food, friends, and music - I'd love for you to be my guest, if possible - let me know!! Peace! Sheryl Bailey.

It is a great honor to be your guest! I hope you will have your guitar handy. It is a privileged treat to listen to America's greatest female jazz composer and guitarist.

A MAGAZINE BY WOMEN, FOR WOMEN AND MEN WHO LOVE WOMEN!!

WOW! What do you mean? Are you telling me you made this magazine to please women? Get a life! Is this really your motto? If yes, you are screwed up! How about a magazine by men, for men and women who love men? Would you like that? Would your bimbos and fancy women like that? Get serious... Dave Buckley, San Francisco, USA.

Dave, if you are practicing gymnastics, you better take a hike. Because it seems your are constantly falling on your head. That's not good. Go back and read what you wrote, as if somebody who really cares about you had sent you your naughty letter. You would not like it. By the way, why are you still reading our magazine and bothering yourself with writing to us?

YOU ARE WELCOME JENNY!!

Dear Max: Thank you ever so much for kindly sending me the links to the magazine that you have entered me in with my letter to you. Your comments were most kind and I am very flattered indeed that you enjoyed my Carpenters Tribute CD. I am extremely grateful to you for your much valued support and I shall look forward very much to receiving your CD review. Many thanks indeed. My very best wishes to you, Jenny Sinclair, Rochester, United Kingdom.

TIERNEY SUTTON

Dear editor: You are covering news of major cabaret stars and jazz singers. I am a fan of Tierney Sutton. Her voice was recently featured on Lions Gate's current hit movie, "The Cooler", starring William H. Macy and Alec Baldwin.  Her tunes will also be heard in Paramount's "Twisted", starring Samuel L. Jackson, Andy Garcia and Ashley Judd. She is great. Why don't you interview her. She is la femme of all femmes. Sincerely, Bob Greene, New York, New York, USA.

MADONNA'S DOUBLE FACE

Dear Editor: Do you really believe that Madonna is really spiritual as she claims? I don't think so. Her trip to Israel is a publicity stunt. She practices Cabbala. So she claims. Baloney.  She is like Nancy Reagan. Both need protection. Spirituality is a cover up. Madonna and Nancy Reagan are not secure. They consult mediums, magicians and lunatic clairvoyants. Madonna was not welcome in Israel. Hey, how about her suck face and tongue kissing picture? The other weirdo is Britney Spears, her buddy. This one changes husbands like I change bicycles. You see, those big shot people have no heart. They are power and fame hungry. So, stop writing about them. You are wasting a lot of ink and papers and our time. Your magazine is great. Really great. So keep it clean. Madonna has a double face. One face for the Rabbis and Cabbalists. Another, for her fans...Jay Rousso, New York, New York, USA.

You are dead wrong, Mister. Madonna is an outstanding human being who gave so much to charity. And yes, dear, she is spiritual. You can still act like a weirdo and keep goodness in your heart. Former first lady Nancy Reagan loved power. True, but used it to protect her husband. Remember, macho man, banana-head Rousseau, Washington is infested with sharks. Many were and are still at The White House. Without real power, a first lady cannot protect her husband. Got it? If not, stay in the freezer for a while. Have respect for ladies. We will be glad to put you on a program.
